Dauphin Remembrance Day Observance Marks Armistice Anniversary
Winds and grey skies greet Dauphin citizens as they observe Armistice Day with a cenotaph ceremony at 1 PM led by the Manitoba Horse under Lieut Col McGuirk. Veterans, town officials, school children, and the community attend a banquet in G W Y A Hall with speeches by M L A Mr Hawkins and MP Mr Bowman. A two minute silence honors fallen soldiers followed by readings and tributes to veterans and local ladies.

The jail assizes opening Tuesday November 28 before His Honor Judge A K Dysart will hear two murder charges and one attempted murder. R J Robertson 20 Ochre River stands accused of killing George Wilde 73 at Makinak with a cord wood stick and later burning the body and shack. Mike Lagoski Gilbert Plains charged with murdering his wife Lena Lagoski near Gilbert Plains on July 19. Napoleon Poulin McCreary faces an alleged attempted murder after stabbing his wife’s throat and severing a thumb following a jealousy quarrel.

Fall Proves Fatal To Sifton Resident
William Henry Burge of Sifton dies after a fall from stairs to a concrete basement floor. He was nearly 73, born in Mitchell, raised in Chicago, and had lived in Sifton since 1928 with his wife Lila J. Tufts.
