The Dauphin Agricultural Society reviewed a successful year at the annus meeting led by President George Dowler. Receipts reached 14 140.0 with $899.47 carried forward and $500 in reserve usage. Expenditures included $550 for a public address system and $500 to the travellers parade. The society plans to move exhibition grounds to the D.M.C.C. site and formed a seven member nominating committee for 1950 with a general meeting to follow.

DMCC Receives $1000 In Donations Last Week
The Dauphin Memorial and Community Centre collected 1000 in two major gifts last week. Brew ers and Hotelkeepers of Manitoba War Fund contributed 500 on Thursday morning, presented by four local hotel reps to DMCC officers. Earlier, Dauphin lady curlers added 500, raising their total to over 2000 for DMCC.

Local Girl Wins Good Deed Award In Dauphin Broadcast
Twenty one Dauphin area children aged six to fourteen showcased voice and instrumental talents on stage at the Dauphin theatre during Eaton's Good Deed club radio program broadcast on CBW. The highlight was two wristwatches awarded as good deeds honors with one winner from the Dauphin district and one from Winnipeg. The Dauphin winner was ten year old Gerry Abrey for passing up a show to care for children. Participants included Marilyn L Rasmussen Camperville nine piano solo and many other vocal, piano, guitar, and accordion items by Dauphin and nearby communities.

Parks Board Reports 1949 Summer Expenditures
The Dauphin parks board ended the summer $278.02 in hand with $374.67 unpaid ahead of October. Revenue reached $4,945.50 while cabin investments at the tourist camp totaled $1,947.85 far exceeding the $600 budget estimate. A $50 bonus was approved for Mrs. C McEwen for operating the camp, with expectations of higher next year revenue.

Dauphin police seek a 15 year old male in four break ins and an assault on a woman between November 1 and 3. Described as 5 ft 7 in, 135 pounds with dark unkempt hair, rough appearance, wearing a maroon windbreaker and black denim. Reports urge witnesses to contact police.

Committees Named For T B Survey In Dauphin
Arrangements for a tuberculosis survey of the town of Dauphin were completed at a special meeting. The survey runs Tuesday through Saturday, December 6 to 10, and will offer free chest X rays to all residents. Because of cold weather the mobile unit cannot be used. X ray equipment will be located at four sites over five days.

Hockey gate split remains unchanged in Dauphin
The Dauphin parks board and the Dauphin hockey association kept last year's 60 40 gate split for all games and 70 30 in playoffs despite a request for a 70 30 share. Delegates sought a 10 percent increase due to higher operating costs for a six team league and travel.

Enrollment Tops 1 000 In Dauphin Elementary Schools
Dauphin three elementary schools Henderson Smith Jackson and Whitmore enrolled 1 001 pupils in grades 1 to 8 during October. Attendance averaged about 94 percent as classes operated smoothly. Nine of 28 classes housed 40 or more pupils with others smaller.
