The annual hospital meeting, open to residents, sets nine directors for three years. One-year terms include Dr CO OS Rot erimm and others, while two-year terms list 4 Gardner and W Cruse. Voting requires a $4 annual membership.
The Dauphin-Ochre Rural Field Day Association schedules its annual event at the Dauphin Community Centre grounds on Friday June 4. Entries due by May 30 to Mrs Fr Proke. Program includes parade of seeds, non-competitive drill, demonstrations, benuses, picnic, races and softball games. Committees led by President J R Morvan and officers are listed.
Hon. Stewart E. McLean will address 176 graduates of DCTI on Friday May 27. The 1960 class is near the 1959 record, with 532 grade 12 academic, 17 commercial, six home economics, and one high school leaving student, totaling 76 graduates. Grade 11 includes 100 academic students. Prizes and the Governor-General's medal will be announced as the 1959-60 year ends. Notable list includes Margarer Mae Scott and many others ending with Maurice Harry Smelski.

Through May 20 Dauphin issued building permits totaling 1 380 750 up from 1 103 550 in 1959. The year 1960 shows strong gains in institutional and commercial work led by a 175 000 new Safeway store and a hospital project at 975 000.
Dauphin receives a Safety Award for 1959 for no fatal traffic accidents, presented by Hoan Gurney Evans to Elmer Klock junior member president who will forward it to town council. The citation, signed by Iran Needles, praises the united community effort.
May readings show highs from 59 to 75 with May 19 peaking at 70. The text notes farmers working soil, a holiday weekend passed, and hopes for rain to prevent drifting and aid seed germination. Rain appears possible before press time.
A $360,000 by law is set for a resident electors vote on June 11 to finance two secondary school projects in Duck Mountain school division No. 34. One 12 room school at Ethelbert costs $180,000 with auditorium and library. a 12 room addition to Winnipegosis Collegiate costs $180,000 with similar facilities. Twenty one polling places across six wards will open at 9 am.
Free tuberculosis skin testing and chest X ray survey begin in Dauphin and surrounding rural municipality on Monday May 30. Appointments will be mailed to residents covered by the house to house survey, with others asked to self select a test date. The full schedule appears on page 7.

Hon. Gurney Evans announced projected growth in Dauphin tourism at a Jaycees banquet. Last year about 83,000 Manitoba tourists reached Dauphin area with 39,000 visiting The Pas and Sanberry Portage and 47,000 heading to Flin Flon region. Evans predicts up to 150,000 more dollars in the coming season.
Charles Blais, national president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce from Quebec City, urged delegates in Manitoba to live by the Jaycee Creed. He said young people must sacrifice and work to lead, noted Canada’s 18 000 members and that there should be 30 000. He highlighted the creed’s six tenets, stressing service to humanity as the work of life.

Allan Campbell Stanley Konopski in Bachelor of Science general. Lloyd Podworny in Bachelor of Commerce general. others earn degrees in Home Economics Engineering Social Work Education Law Science Pharmacy and more. Governor General scholarships are noted for outstanding diplomas.
