Striking Sifton Students Return To Classes Monday
About 25 students from Sifton’s one room high school walked out Thursday and Friday in a non attendance strike. They returned Monday after local trustees and Inspector W G Booth discussed the issue. The strike aimed to influence the dismissal of principal Mr Stanko amid debate over staff qualifications and school administration.

Measles Cases Rise in April and Health Unit Report
In April the health unit logged 16 new measles cases with 40 accompanying calls. Three new tuberculosis cases were found, two of them contacts, plus three gonorrhea and two syphilis cases. There were six deaths and 35 births. rural schools and barber shops were inspected, with seven barber shops checked and two not approved. Dr. Creighton discussed Winnipeg and the stalled health centre project due to material and contractor shortages. Pasteurizing plants showed very low counts.

Travellers Sponsor Parade For Dauphin Fair
The Travellers club offers to sponsor a parade for the second day of Dauphin's three day agricultural fair on July 74.3. Prizes totaling 200 dollars will be awarded for best floats and other entries in categories such as town float outside float and bicycle. The parade runs uptown down main street to the fair grounds with awards before the afternoon performance.

Inquest Finds Negligent Driving in Logan Death
Coroner’s jury finds John Logan died from injuries after being struck on the Winnipegosis highway. Plans Studied for Elementary School Additions and DMCC Campaign
Excavation began Tuesday on the MacKenzie school addition to house technical courses for the composite high opening in fall. A new elementary school has plans drawn by architect E Fitz Munn with wardrobe facilities and acoustical ceilings. The Dauphin Memorial and Community Centre fund launches with a gala on June 7 and a fund drive starting June 9, organized by volunteer teams for house to house canvassing. subscriptions to be collected to support the memorial project.
