Verdict in shooting case at Shortdale farm
Coroner's jury returns a verdict that Nikola Kolcum died in Dauphin General Hospital around 6:30 pm May 3rd from infection caused by gunshot wounds inflicted about 1:30 pm April 30th, 1928, at Paul Bencharski's farm seven miles south of Shortdale. About 30 dry municipalities in the province automatically became wet after three months since the liquor act proclamation. No petitions for local option votes had been filed by Tuesday afternoon. The semi annual Dauphin Lawn Bowling Club meeting in the town hall approved season fees with ladies admitted as full members. Committees for Finance Grounds Draw and ladies only draws were appointed.
