Four Alarm Fire Weekend Strain Hits Dauphin Brigade
In under 20 hours the Dauphin fire brigade fought four alarms last Friday and Saturday. A man was burned while trying to prime a car in front of People's store on Burrows Avenue. Fires included Bert Scrase's garage on Main Street, two sheds on Third Avenue, and a brush fire behind the hospital that required 1,300 feet of hose. The Maple Street fire raised questions about dumped rubbish and hydrant notifications.

Two Veterans Seek Non-scheduled Flying Service at No 10
Two RC A F veterans Don Hamilton and Hilton Esterbrook asked Dauphin council for approval of a non scheduled air service at No 10 airport. The plan includes instruction sightseeing trips barnstorming supplies and passenger flights to remote spots. They would use an office in the observation tower and require a charter to begin. Parks Board Outlines Summer Work Program

Winnipegosis Highway Crash Claims J Patrick Logan
John Patrick Logan, 68, died after a car struck him on the Winnipegosis highway near W D Strang's farm while he was visiting his daughter in La Vallee. Henry Edwards of Dauphin was the driver. An inquest is set for Thursday evening. Logan, born in Dublin, had lived across Saskatchewan and Ontario before retiring to La Vallee. He survived by his wife and five children. Funeral set for May 16 at Sneath's funeral home with burial in Riverside cemetery. A second fatality occurred when Mrs Steve Demchuk drowned in a well on a farm nine miles south. coroner ruled no inquest.
