Local Elevators Move Over A Million Bushels Of Grain
A report from five local grain elevators shows more than a million bushels marketed between August 1, 1949 and May 5, 1950 with an estimated 93,000 more to come by July 31. Wheat, barley, oats, flax and rye totals are given with future intake estimates. Cold wet weather delays seedings for the 1950 season as farmers prepare fields. several started last week in the Dauphin district but widespread seeding awaits warmer, drier days next week.

Sawmill Worker Dies After Sawmill Accident
Nick Rudnetsky a 44 year old sawmill worker of Pulp River Manitoba died in Dauphin General Hospital from injuries suffered in a machine accident at the mill last Thursday. He was born December 15 1965 at Canora Saskatchewan and is survived by his wife four sons one daughter one brother and two sisters. Funeral arrangements through Sneaths Funeral Home with Rev L A Muttitt officiating. Burial in Riverside cemetery.
