Dauphin Boys Band Impresses In Public Concert
The Dauphin Boys Band gave its first public exhibition last Friday in the town hall before a fair-sized audience. The program featured marches and overtures with strong cornet and clarinet work and prominent solo numbers by Amy Starr Sophie Goldman and W McMurray. Proceeds from a post concert dance will aid the band’s summer engagements.

Transfer of Rev. Father Holloway Ends His Parish Pastorate

Local Boy Injured In Farm Wagon Accident
Robert Alexander Brown suffered a serious accident when his team’s wagon fled and threw him to the ground. He was treated at Dauptin General Hospital for a broken leg and head injuries. While the family was at the hospital, a fire damaged their barns, destroying a registered shorthorn, three calves and poultry though most livestock was saved.

Dauphin Collegiate Mourns Thelma Hjalmarson Death
Thelma Hjalmarson died May 1 after a four day illness of pneumonia. Thelma, born 1912 at Tiny River Manitoba, lived in Dauphin since 1925 and was a top student active in school and student activities. She leaves her parents and eleven siblings. A private funeral will be held at home Thursday at 2 pm with a public service at St. James United Church at 2:30 pm, Rev H M Lyon officiating. Burial at Riverside cemetery with pallbearers from fellow students.

The Ukrainian Catholics of the district sent a cheque for 150 dollars along with a crucifix and plate to Dauphin General Hospital to furnish a semi-private ward. The hospital board acknowledged the gift with thanks.
