The Festival Of Allied Arts runs next week across Mackenzie auditorium venues with sessions at 9 30 am and 7 30 pm. Trophy classes and final display of school art work will be held in the Mackenzie auditorium with Rampton as president and Marsh as coordinating secretary. Fire Calls Answered Since First Of Year
The Dauphin volunteer fire department rushed to a vacant three room house at the north end of King Street after a second alarm in 48 hours. The lack of a nearby hydrant and a strong wind hampered efforts as the building burned to the ground, valued at $2,000 by owner Harry Kuchma. Fire losses for the first four months of 1957 totaled about $43,000 with 14 town calls and one rural alarm.

Manitoba Schools Orchestra Delight Crowds In Dauphin Concert
The Manitoba schools orchestra captivated a small Dauphin audience at Mackenzie auditorium on Monday night under conductor Miss Frances Port. Sponsored by Mackenzie Home and School Association and DCT student council, 45 members framed a six day Manitoba tour from April 29 to May 3 with host families for the night. Dr A D McKee emceed as selections included Quilter’s A Children's Overture Bizet Minuetto from L'Arlesienne Mozart Symphony in G minor corcetto Vivaldi with four violin soloists and popular encores Dance of the Hours Jamaican Rumba Perpetuum Mobile and Semper Fidelis.

More than 30 entries were received for the Dauphin Jaycees first Teenage Safe Driving Road-eo. The driving test is Sunday at 1 30 p m at the Dauphin airport with judges from RCMP highways and Winnipeg safety. Winners receive cash prizes, trips, and a chance to compete in Winnipeg and London finals with substantial scholarships for national winners.
