Log falls kill Joseph Werzbicki on cold Garland farm
Joseph Werzbicki 4 of Polish extraction died when a large log fell on him at his northeast Garland Minnesota home while he prepared a tamarac barn upright. Coroner ruled accidental death after evidence showed he slipped on ice and struck his head as the log dropped. He leaves a wife and two children and the homestead appeared prosperous.

Dauphin Benefit Dance Aids Fire Victim In Dauphin
A charity dance in Dauphin raised about 120 to 135 dollars for Chas Coulthart who lost his barn and stock in a fire north east of the town. The event drew 250 attendees in the town hall with local musicians volunteering their services.
