Log falls kill Joseph Werzbicki on cold Garland farm
Joseph Werzbicki 4 of Polish extraction died when a large log fell on him at his northeast Garland Minnesota home while he prepared a tamarac barn upright. Coroner ruled accidental death after evidence showed he slipped on ice and struck his head as the log dropped. He leaves a wife and two children and the homestead appeared prosperous.

Dauphin Benefit Dance Aids Fire Victim In Dauphin
A charity dance in Dauphin raised about 120 to 135 dollars for Chas Coulthart who lost his barn and stock in a fire north east of the town. The event drew 250 attendees in the town hall with local musicians volunteering their services. In Dauphin on March 23 1932 a 12 year old boy Peter Cottick died when earth collapsed in a potato pit. An inquest found death accidental with misadventure on Fred Irvine’s property. Jury urged better safety and pit inspections before workers enter pits.

Solomon Cup Debate Ends With Grade XII Victory
The final Solomon Cup debate in the school auditorium on March 23 saw Grade XII win with Mary Urbanovitch leading the negative team and Stewart McLean as second. Renee Winters and Elien Moore supported the affirmative. Mr. S. Solomon awarded the cap to Urbanovitch. The Dauphin Old Timers Association of Vancouver held its third annual social at Oddfellows Hall Grandview, with 100 former Dauphin residents. George Johnstone and Horace Woodrow managed a 25 cent reception, then Mr. J. F. Code welcomed guests, praising the gathering and sending best wishes to Dauphin. Mrs. Bert Harvey directed a singing program, and Mr. George Sergeant spoke on his 82nd birthday. The event closed with a banquet, dancing, and Auld Lang Syne.
