Miss Street Addresses Dauphin Rotary on Child Welfare

At the Dauphin Rotary Club luncheon, Miss Street discussed her role as probation officer and public health advocate. She explained duties under the Mothers Allowance Act, child welfare, adoptions, and care of children born out of wedlock, urging support for the Children's Aid Society. Rev. Obituary: John A. McDonald of Ochre River Dies

John A. McDonald of Ochre River died Saturday after four months of ill health. Born in 1863 in Bruce County Ontario he moved to Manitoba as a child. He married May McKinnon and farmed at Turtle River before settling in Ochre River for twenty years. Survived by wife seven sons Donald Malcolm John Archie Chris Saskatoon William George two daughters Grace Mabel and two brothers Malcolm Donald. Burial at Turtle River cemetery followed a funeral at Ochre River United Church. Pallbearers listed.

Aged Resident of Valley River Dies

Michael Blahitka of Valley River died at his farm home aged 84. Born in Austria in 1849 he came to Canada in 1899 and settled near Valley River in 1902 after stints in Brandon and Dauphin. Survived by three sons and three daughters, nine grandchildren. Funeral at Greek Catholic church conducted by Father Rubericki. Burial in church cemetery.

Flin Flon defeats Dauphin in a two game series to eliminate Dauphin from the intermediate hockey race. The first game ended 2 2 with Flin Flon winning 4 1 in the second. Tremblay led Flin Flon with three goals in the series and Gar Leech and Mickey McMaster starred for Dauphin.

Dauphin Man March 21 1935 progress report from the utility committee outlines three supply requisitions for ordinary use and replacement. Proposes $245 tractor repairs and a secondhand bottom frame to save $100, with future diesel models likely better. Notes boiler reconstruction and light circuit questionnaire to light users to be mailed April 10.

Funeral for Mrs Elizabeth Crawford in Daubhin

Mrs Elizabeth Crawford who died March 19 at her Dau bhin home was laid to rest in the family plot at Killarney after a Pentecostal church service led by Rev W J Taylor and Rev D H Telfer. Pallbearers included P Cattes R I Cochran e J Mills J N McFadden H C Nicholson and Wm Thomas. A large gathering attended the interment.
