Laurier man in court over Makinak railroad hold-up
On Monday Simon Letain of Laurier Manitoba appeared before Magistrate Hawkins in a provincial police court for a preliminary hearing in connection with the Makinak station hold-up. He was identified by the conductor and brakeman of train No 9 as the man who boarded at Gimcairn and left at Makinak the morning of the robbery. They were heard and Letain was committed for trial.

Under church sponsorship a social welfare conference on Community Needs and Responsibilities will be held in Dauphin Sunday April 7 and Monday April 8. Dauphin Plans Junior Seed Growers Club Formation
The Dauphin Agricultural Society directs the creation of a Junior Seed Growers Club in the Dauphin district under the Dauphin Board of Trade farming committee. Fifteen members aged 16 to 25 will receive pure seed at 75 cents a bushel for two to five acres, with a Winnipeg exhibition and a chance to advance to the 1932 World Seed Fair in Regina.
