United Church Choir Delights Dauphin in Concert
The United Church Choir delivered a stirring performance to a full Dauphin audience last Thursday. Under conductor A Marshall Neal the forty member group showcased soloists and ensembles including North Sperani and Struthers. highlights featured The Border Ballad The Ash Grove and Beethoven Adagio and Allegro as well as a moving violin solo and the choir’s final Trees.

Literary Society Meeting Features Recitation and Play
At the Friday gathering on March 20 the Literary Society held a regular meeting with singing and minutes, no business, a Cecil Miskelly recitation, a Japanese Love Song by six singers, the second Collegiate Echo read by Allan Soroton, and a play Pat's Matrimonial Venture with Pat played by Frank Barker and the widow by Lilian Duncan. The group adjourned to God Save the King and a band promotion followed.

Sentences handed for sexual crimes at Dauphin Assizes
Crimes heard in camera at Dauphin ended Friday with two cases. Peter Baschuk of Weiden was convicted of carnal knowledge of a feeble minded female and sentenced to one year in the Dauphin gaol. Metro Holowchuk of Toutes Aides received three years in the penitentiary and ten lashes on the first count and two years on the second, to run concurrently. Justice Donovan urged deterrence as a rising rate of sexual offences was reported. Co. S. A. Rogers prosecuted.
