Dauphin CNR Defeats Swan River In Hockey 10-4

Dauphin CNR strengthens its lineup adding Herb Leech Gar Leech and Squee Heard for a Monday trip to Swan River. Four goals were scored by Bill Young Fred Young George May and Ross Wilkinson with the new players tallying six more as the visitors win 10 to 4. Curtis Jr. in goal faced many shots but held firm.

Dauphin United Church Choir Delivers Excellent Concert

A 50 voice Dauphin choir under A. Marshal Neal performed a varied program at the United Church to celebrate Eastertide. The concert featured choral works, instrumental pieces, violin and viola solos, a male quartet, and an energetic Danse Negro, delighting a sympathetic audience.

Irish Patrons Celebrate St Patrick's Day in Dauphin

About two hundred people attended a Dauphin Irish Society dinner in the town hall on March 17 to celebrate St Patrick's Day. The program featured Irish songs by Mrs. Alex Cummings and Wilfred Caldwell, a surprise forty-voice choir, and remarks by J P Johnson of Calgary who urged Irish Canadians to contribute to Canada’s future.

Brooks Waters Tie Quiet Dauphin Nuptials

Donald R. Brooks and Odille G. Waters were married at the Manse in Dauphin on March 22 in a small ceremony with Rev. Douglas H. Telfer officiating. The couple will reside in Dauphin. Scrase and Son announce shipping hogs and cattle on Monday March 28 due to transport changes.

Town Council Votes By-law Changes and Pension Plans

The Dauphin town council meets Friday with Mayor Robson and councilors present. Dan Cole admits slanderous statements against John Taylor and J Wallace are false and apologizes. Old Age Pension matters reach the Winnipeg Pension Board and a by law amending 755 passes. Water meters to be installed at multiple sites and a poll tax by-law is planned.
