Early Dauphin settlers celebrate annual oldtimers dinner

The first Dauphin settlers with thirty years residence gathered at G Y hall for their annual anniversary dinner and to recall pioneer days. Mr H P Nicholson opened with a toast to the King as Canada was sung. The meeting approved finances, forming an emergency fund and cooperation with the Land Settlement Committee for incoming settlers. Deaths of members were noted and a name change from oldtimers discussed. Entertainment followed with recitations songs and dances.

Canadian National Tours Forage Crop and Poultry Cars

The Canadian National Railways announces a tour of forage crop and poultry cars across Manitoba in collaboration with the Provincial Department of Agriculture and the Agricultural College. The forage car will showcase seed, corn, grasses, and lectures, while the poultry car offers farm flock education. Stops include Valley River, Ste Rose, Liften, Borketon, Ochre River, and Dauphin with times in late March.

Town Council to hear rink proposal tonight

Representatives of the local rink company will appear before the town council this Thursday with tentative proposals to erect a covered rink by next fall. They seek concessions including tax exemptions for a certain period.

Dauphin notes with regret that Rev. Philip Duncan B A will soon depart from St James Church after induction in September 1924 to take a post at St. Pauls Brandon this week. He is unlikely to move before June.

Doctor brings dead dog back to life in unlikely rescue

The story recounts Dr. McGuirk reviving a dog after a failed euthanasia. Archie Chutes and Angus Durston handled the dogs at Chutes barn. A hypodermic antidote was used, the dog moved, and later stayed hospitalized three days for observation.

Four district meetings on elevator project announced

John Seale announces four district meetings starting March 22 at Burrows School Dauphin Plains Mountview and Spruce Creek to discuss acquiring an elevator for Dauphin. Meetings run March 22 23 24 25 in schoolhouses except Spruce Creek where Community Hall hosts. Open to all, especially non pool farmers.

District Good Roads Association Organized in Northern Manitoba

A Northern Manitoba Good Roads Association meeting in Town Hall set 1926 officers as president Conn W. H Purston of Dauphin vice president Reeve Dunseath of Grandview and sec treasurer Robt Fagen of Dauphin The group planned district and local competitions five prizes for gravel and five for earth roads and affiliating with the Provincial association Attendees included Reeve Dunseath Councillors McIntyre Topham Reese Scott and others from Grandview Ste Rose Dauphin and rural Dauphin.

Land Entry Opens on Riding Mountain Slopes Amid Claims

On March 11 parcels released by the S. eight B.B. were opened for entry on the Riding Mountain slopes. Returned men had first claim with about fifty filing on day one. Eighteen waited all night but were satisfied. a civilian crowd without preference gathered March 18 and was processed the next morning.

Anniversary and Re Union Formed in Dauphin Town

A Thursday March meeting at Dauphin Town Hall formed an Anniversary and Re Union to mark the town’s 25th incorporation. Attendees included Mayor Palmer and councilors, leaders from the Agricultural Society Rural Council Canadian Club Rotary Club, with plans for an Old Home Week during the Agricultural Fair July 8 9 and 16 1926. A permanent committee and nominating panel were appointed to organize the celebration.

F. K. Marshall, secretary of the Teachers' Federation of Manitoba, was in town on Saturday. He spoke at the Normal school in the afternoon before leaving for Portage la Prairie on the night train.
