A young man named Jos Albert was killed at Cowan on Sunday when his clothing caught on an engine shaft. He was whirled by the shaft and mangled before the engine could be stopped, the fatal accident reported from the scene.

A Roblin convention on March T held to organize temperance forces for the coming referendum. Rev. Neville of Dauphin attended as organizer and a central association formed with officers including Rev. J. L. King president and C. W. Walters treasurer. Executives and committees were named with captains appointed for each poll. A public meeting drew a large attentive audience as Rev. Neville spoke.

William H. McMunn Rites Held for Dauphin Settler
William H. McMunn died March 11 after a nine year paralytic stroke. Born April 1848 in Lanark County Ontario, he married Effie Bird in 1875 and lived in Hastings County before moving west to Dauphin. He farmed, worked on the Neepawa to Dauphin railroad, and was a Conservative and Church of England member. Survived by wife and two sons Wellington and S. H., plus siblings. Services by Rev. H. P. Barrett at St Paul’s on March 13. burial at Riverside Cemetery.
