Dauphin Curling Club Ends 1921 Bonspiel With Winners

The Dauphin Curling Club hosted the twenty third annual bonspiel drawing 22 entries from town and 18 from outside with seven sheets of ice running from Monday night to Saturday. Final results list Grand Challenge first Pettypiece Benito second Watson Humboldt third Hume Dauphin fourth Eagle Dauphin Cameron Heap and other placings. Consolation and all comers prizes were awarded to local rinks and teams from The Pas Gilbert Plains Swan River and more.

Malcolm named census commissioner for Dauphin seat

Ottawa dispatch announces Mr Robt J Malcolm appointed census commissioner for the Federal constituency of Dauphin. It is understood that returned soldiers will be employed as assistants on the project where possible.

Pioneer settler Stuart Geekie dies in Manitoba at 68

Stuart Geekie a Dauphin pioneer who helped found Dauphin County and served as the first reeve of Dauphin Rural Municipality died in Strathclair at 68 after a stay near Lake Winnipegosis. He and A. J. McPherson built a saw mill in Riding Mountain and later homesteaded Spruce Creek. Survived by brothers John of Strathclair and William of Winnipegosis. Interment at Strathclair.

Dauphin Exhibitors Shine at Neepawa Poultry Show

Dauphin exhibitors scored in Neepawa with Fred Douglas barred rock entries taking top pen and white leghorns. E S Robinson swept multiple divisions including white wyandottes and leghorns while earning special prizes for best male and best display. A separate Gay feature promotes Dead Men Tell No Tales showing Monday and Tuesday.

New Cut in CN Rail Schedule Affects Dauphin Layovers

Canadian National Railways implements a new Sunday Feb 27 schedule altering west to north travel with a Dauphin layover through Monday afternoon. Main Line No 9 departs Winnipeg 10:20 p.m. for Dauphin arriving 4:55 a.m. No 10 from Calgary reaches Dauphin 3:32 a.m. daily except Monday. Dauphin locals run on Mon Wed Fri and Tue Thu Sat with changes for connections to The Pas and Winnipeg schedules. Northbound No 15 from Winnipeg operates Mon Wed Fri 8:40 a.m. arriving Dauphin 3:05 p.m. with 3:30 p.m. departure to Hudson Bay Junction. No 16 from Prince Albert arrives Dauphin 9 a.m. Tue Thu Sat. Dauphin to Winnipeg via main line. Winnipegosis and Dauphin links also adjusted for weekly days. Southbound Dauphin to Beulah and Dauphin to Brandon services run on Mon Wed Fri 6:30 a.m. and Tue Thu Sat return, with Ste. Rose du Lac routing and 4:10 p.m. Dauphin arrival on return.

March 6 programme includes band pieces and solos

The March 6 program lists Chas Rockwell leading Almont band with Mili taire and Alice Where art Thou. Mrs McNab performs Spirit of Peace. The McMurray Family perform Mammy's Lullaby and Twilight Serenade. Other items include Margovia and Re member Me with Helen Cross and Jack McMurray. Adeste Fideles closes with Pass Me Not by the orchestra.
