Truck Plunges Through Ice Of Churchill River In North

A truck carrying gravel sank through ice on the Churchill River near Pikatawagan 125 miles north of The Pas. Two men aboard were not found as divers located the wreck 6 feet below the surface the same day. One truck followed the route 15 minutes later and found the ice broken 9 feet where the first vehicle disappeared. The lost men were from Dauphin. memorial services were held for Robert Wallace Kemp, 23, with family ties listed.

Former Dauphinite Drowned Near Coast

A Dauphin resident drowned when a boat capsized while crossing from Vancouver Island to the mainland. Gordon Kutty, the only son of Mr and Mrs Pitti Rety, was among the three companions. his aunt Miss Rais and Gordon’s parents were noted.

CKDM to Boost Power to 10000 Watts in Mid April

CKDM plans a mid April upgrade to a 10 000 watt daytime transmitter and 5 000 watt at night with new towers sited south of the Nante highway and west of Dauphin.
