Teachers Tour Visits Dauphin July 9 Fairday

A group of teachers from Moba Better will arrive by bus in Dauphin on Friday morning July 9. They will be met by a Dauphin chamber of commerce committee and Mayor Andy Newton. They will join Travellers' Day parade activities with the Agricultural Society's Summer Fair before touring to southwestern Ontario.

Chiropractor opens Dauphin clinic by Dr Donald R Allen

Dr Donald R Allen of Winnipeg and Cana Memorial Chiropractic College Toronto has opened a new office in the Shumanski building Dauphin. He was born in Winnipeg and graduated in 1955 after four years of study. Post graduate training was at the Parker Foundation in Fort Worth Texas. He practiced in Flin Flon for five years with the McPhail clinic under Dr Lloyd McPhail.

The Dauphin Agricultural Society releases the Pair and Rodeo prize list with updated livestock classifications and new entry rules. Pioneer Sod Turns For Dauphin Senior Homes

Friday June 18 marked the sod turning for new senior citizens homes on four acres in southwest Dauphin. John A. McKillop 89, vice president of the Legion club for Seniors, used a gold shovel as officials from Dauphin Senior Citizens Homes and Manitoba officials praised the project. Michael Kutcher donated 1000 to support the homes noting action beats words and Trax excavator began work to prepare the site with Freiheit Construction as contractor.

Manitoba electoral boundaries plan to be published soon

Manitoba's boundary commission chaired by Mr Justice R D Guy will publish a tentative federal riding plan after Ottawa prints it. Hearings across five centres, likely in September, will be held with Dauphin a possible site. The 1961 census shows Manitoba to lose one seat, from 14 to 13, with Winnipeg ridings above and rural ridings below the average.

Swimming Classes to Start July 5 in Dauphin Rotary Effort

The Dauphin Rotary sponsors swimming lessons starting July 5 at Campbell's Point for the eleventh year with junior and senior groups plus evening adult classes emphasizing safety and drown proofing.
