Case adjourned in Kelson municipal accident suit at Dauphin

At the King's court bench in Dauphin the case of Mra isonaid Kelsona the Shell River Municipality was adjourned. The suit seeks 15000 dollars for injuries to Kelso from a Sept 6 1929 car crash into a gravel pit near an intersection. Arguments highlighted pit ownership and guarding failures. verdict set for June 19 after further evidence.

Meteor Brightly Lights Sky Seen Across Country

Shortly after midnight Sunday J A McKillop witnessed a very brilliant meteor drop across the sky. The flash was so intense the surrounding country appeared illuminated. He requests reports from others who may have seen the phenomenon.

Plowing Match Honored at Ochre River by Dauphin Society

The Dauphin Agricultural Society held its annual plowing match at Ochre River on June 17 on Thos Kern’s farm south of the village. Competitors and spectators from the district attended as judges announced prize winners across engine, horse, and walking plow classes with special honors going to Jas Blair and Gerald Reilly.

Pilot George McKee Recovered From Lake Manitoba Crash

The body of George McKee Van cuver pilot for Western Canada Airways and 30 from Vancouver was recovered Saturday from Lake Manitoba near Reykjavik Manitoba where his plane with Arthur Hunt Chute and Arthur Roach went down last September near Icelandic settlement Raykjavik. Chute and Roach bodies were found the next day. Funeral arrangements are being made in Dauphin.

Four men held for trial in Dauphin hold-up case

Joe Wyrozub Greemry Zachuruk Mike Hrynchuk and Mike Barko were committed by Magistrate Hawkins in Dauphin police court to stand trial at the fall criminal assizes. Chief R. Smith identified the four and the car used the night of June 7. Provincial police helped seize them at Neepawa. Charlie Ying, restaurant owner, identified the gunman and stated a $29 500 loss from the cash register. Renton and Constable Klepacki testified on arrest and witness statements.
