A party of Scottish editors touring Canada will arrive in Dauphin on Saturday. They will meet the Dauphin Board of Trade and tour farming areas to study land values and production costs. Articles planned for Scottish emigrants will follow after their return.

The Chief of Police reports thirteen Ruthenian youths after stealing eight packages of cigarettes and many chocolate bars from Ruthenian Hall. They accessed by crawling under the hall, then through a trap door. four others were caught hauling four cases of Squeeze from Crown Bottling Works on a wagon. Bottling Works reports ongoing supply losses.
Noted naturalist Ernest Thompson Seton known as a Nature Apostle will visit Dauphin this fall under the Dauphin District Boys' Board. He will lecture at schools and present a matinee for children in the afternoon and an evening public talk, with illustrated lectures praised by those familiar with Uncle Jack Miner’s bird message.
Miss Mary Stark of the C.N. office staff has ended a two week holiday at Regina and Winnipeg and returned to town on Wednesday.
Dauphin Beach items record weekend visitors and local happenings. Guests include Wm Cort at Campbell residence and Dorothy Poole visiting her sister, with multiple camp outings by Johnston, McDonald, Dynes, and McLachlin parties. A golf injury to Nora MecGirr and a nail-tack incident are noted along with a launch trip by Commodore Bell and a cat collection venture by Jim Malcolm. Beach officials and soundings for a new pier are mentioned.
The Cub turnout last week was fair and new or old boys are welcome. Thursday at 3 PM, Friday at 7 15 PM, and Saturday hike at 10 30 AM are planned with semaphore, first aid, staff drill, games, and a packed lunch.
Miss Bessie Stewart of the Post Office staff leaves Tuesday for Winnipeg to spend her holidays with friends. A group of teenage boys camps at Seven Elms Beach and will use the camp facilities for a few days. More groups may join. bring grub and blankets as the Camp Committee of the Dauphin District Boys' Board will handle the rest.
The W A of St Pauls church will hold an annual Lawn Social on the grounds of Judge Bonnycastle Friday evening August 1 at 7 30 to 9. The event features community gathering and fundraising activities.
An afternoon and evening garden party will be held on the lawn of Mr. and Mrs. Arrowsmith on Wednesday August 6. Tea will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Side shows and dancing on the lawn follow from 7 p.m. until dusk. A cordial invitation is extended to all.

Jim Malcolm owned a hen that outclassed a famed turkey. After slaughter, its gizzard revealed seven .22 shells a fish-hook and a golf ball fragment. The bird's untimely end graced a camper's breakfast at Dauphin Beach, avoiding any public frenzy or gold rush reference.
Mr Paul Stephens editor of American Farming magazine visited Dauphin district during a Western Canada trip studying agricultural conditions. After a sixty mile district tour he praised the area calling it the garden of Eden for cereal crops.
Mr. Carlyle of the Dominion Public Works Department surveyed Dauphin Beach for a proposed pier. The project would extend 382 feet from shore to reach a mean depth of five feet, featuring a north east projecting deck and a breakwater running north west and south east. Contracts for stone and timber will be let after plans are finalized. The pier would aid residents and campers yet aim to boost commercial ship shipments crossing the lake.
At Dauphin on July 39th Reverend Duncan Ritchie performed the ceremony for Ocean Theodore Johnson the son of Lena Rebecca Mae Lusk and the late John Johnson.
Citizens report widespread garden vandalism harming beautification efforts this year. The Dauphin Horticultural Society pledges to publicize the issue and pursue offenders to the fullest extent of the law to stop future raids.
Captain and Mrs G Fugelsang assume leadership of the local Salvation Army Corp in Dauphin with a farewell for Capt Yarlett and Lt Horaniuc. Capt Fugelsang has left his post as Financial Representative of South Western Saskatchewan and moves from Moose Jaw to Dauphin. The piece notes cemetery plant thefts from Mr John Aller’s grave plot and appeals for restoration of missing shrubs.
The B P O Elks prepare Kiddies Day at Dauphin Beach on Monday August 4. About 440 children joined last year for rides to the lake sports boating swimming and meals. Meet at War Memorial at 9 15 am convoy departs at 10 0 am with route to Main Street Court House CN R shops and exhibition grounds then back to the lake.
