Boy Kicked by Horse Awarded 1500 In King's Bench Court
In Dauphin on Wednesday Justice Adamson awarded $1500 to the infant and $39 to the father in a suit by Garry Conley for injuries to his son from a horse on the Steele School district grounds in October 1930. The court found the horse kick caused the injuries and faulted trustees for permitting horses at large, granting a two week stay of execution for appeal.

Manitoba University awards two district scholarships
Dr W J Spence registrar of Manitoba University announced two district number one scholarships. John R Barker of Dauphin won the first scholarship with fifty dollars cash and tuition exemption for a normal course. Sarah I Johnston of Roblin received the second scholarship.

Town Woodyard Fire Threatens Dauphin Pile Again
Fire discovered at nine Saturday morning threatened a large wood pile owned by the town of Dauphin for the second time in a month. Earlier on June 22 a similar blaze caused nearly 500 in losses and danger to 2000 cards. Police linked the outbreak to sparks from a passing train.

Justice Adamson grants John Litowitz and his infant children 4695.75 plus costs after a May trial found Canadian National Railways negligent in a February 2, 1934 collision at Sifton. Dauphin Football Team Dominates Central Manitoba Tournaments
Dauphin football players earned top money in three summer tournaments across Manitoba. On July 2 at Birtle they beat Rochdale 5-1 after defeating Clear Lake 3-1 and Basswood 1-0 to reach the final. They then won at Minnedosa on July 11 by beating Arden Ridge 1-0 and Minnedosa 3-1 before a 2-1 final over Clear Lake. In Russell they again claimed first prize by defeating Vista 3-1 and Rochdale 4-0. Under ideal weather the Manitoba Horse held its annual regimental sports day at Welcome Beach Lake Dauphin drawing a large crowd. Lt Col O McGuirk led the regiment with inspections by Col R O Alexander DS0 and Winnipeg headquarters represented by Col P J Montague and Brigadier Major R G Graham among others. Winners included Capt Graves in officers jump, Lieut Montgomery second, Lieut Fletcher third. Fletcher, Graves, Montgomery in tent pegging. W Easterbrook, Graves second in musical chairs. Trooper Williams won tent pegging first. Corporal MacDonald won Victoria Cross event. Trooper Harkness first in individual jumping. Corporal Moore's section won half section jumping.
