Mrs Delmage Heads to Manitoba Grass Courts Tourney

Mr and Mrs J E Delmage and family departed for Minnedosa on Monday where Mrs Delmage will compete in Manitoba grass courts tennis tournament. She holds the ladies open singles championship cup and, with Mrs T Cochran of Winnipeg, the ladies open doubles championship cup.

Nine Postal Orders and Cheque Found in Old Rink Building

Electrician E Mayo found behind a door nine postal orders and a cheque made out to the Dominion Lands Agent at Dauphin signed by P S Ogruzio. The items, stamped Camperville and Duck River, dated late March to early April, were turned over to Mr Widmeyer. Tampering suspected in the Winzpegosis postal branch. delays in permits due to missing funds. Some orders had already been released before discovery.

Winnipeg Visitors Occupy Lakeview Beach Cottages

Mrs J O Brien and family formerly of Dauphin now in Winnipeg opened camp at Lakeview cottage this week. Winnipeg guests Mr and Mrs Fraser have taken Shamrock Lodger. Several other families arrived and settled in cottages including Lorn Lodge and Gorby cottage with coastal travel noted.

At a Swan Valley Progressive meeting with 269 members a motion was passed asking the association council to consider asking Mr A McCleary the sitting Progressive member to resign. The issue centered on his stance regarding the Bracken government plan to transfer Seven Sisters Falls to a private firm and his failure to sign recall papers as per party practice.

Primitive Indian Skeleton Unearthed On Farm Site

Workers unearthed a well preserved human skeleton about a foot and a half below the surface on Frank Magnet's farm near an old Indian trail. Foregoing artifacts include sharpened bones and a circular wire ring, likely skinning tools. The bones, found by a scraper strike, are now with Inspector Cunningham.

Fifth annual meeting of Dauphin Wheat Pool held in Pollom Halls

The Dauphin local of the Manitoba Wheat Pool met July 20 in Pollom Halls with about 10 percent attendance. W. G. A. Gourley presented a thorough report on the Pool’s work. Local golf clubs select eight players for Dauphin team

Open Championship Semi Finals and Club Events

The first flight fours have reached the open championship stage with Heaslip and Walker to finish. Bowman defeated McLachlin to reach the semi finals with Harrington facing Arnett and W. D.
