A 16 year old son of the post master was arrested after a decoy parcel went missing. He faced Mag istrate Hawking and was found guilty of stealing from the mails and sentenced to three years in the penitentiary.
Two youths aged 16 and 17 appeared before PM Hawkins on a charge of stealing clothing from The Clothes Stop S. Finkel and Store. Constable Mitchell nabbed one at midnight. the pair crawled through a window to grab goods. They received a severe reprimand with three years suspended sentence in the reformatory and must have written street curfew consent after 16:00 if no further misdeeds occur.
Trail Ranger age boys begin the annual Dauphin District Boys Camp with a new policy allowing flexible entry. The Camp Committee will supply the camp facilities and supervision. boys may join at any time with their own supplies. Contact the secretary for details at numbers 73 or 17. Reports say the camp offers swimming, codeats, and camp fires.
The first Young Bird Race of the season faced heavy rains delaying release until 3 50. A. E. Philpott released the birds with others unavailable. Timings list Philpott first and others placing, while Dave Robb reports Calgary birds in Manitoba Championship. A club meeting is set for tonight at 8 o'clock to discuss important business.
The Elke defeated the CNR Bangers 5 to 4 after a tight back and forth battle Friday night. Darlington and Me entgk delivered two runs for the Elks aided by a CN error. CNR later beat Ochre River 11 to 1 on Tuesday.
Jack Meenna of North Sydney wins a technical knockout in the ninth round against Billy Groff of Pegasus at Frem Arena. Meenna dominated from the second round onward, landing heavy blows while Groff struggled to respond. Groff had a sharp early jab but was outpaced as the North Sydney fighter built a decisive lead.
The Rev. D. Ritchie attends a Baptist Union gathering in Edmon this week, joining clergy and lay members for discussions and worship.
Mr. Carlyle of the Dominion Department visited Dauphin on Tuesday en route to Winnipegosis to supervise the project. Measurements and soundings will precede a contract call, with cribbing to be installed early fall and filling after freeze up. Dominion estimates allocate 5,000 for the wharf.
List of names receiving passes and honors in the Stevenson's Division across multiple schools and districts. The long roster includes Gladys Susie Honore and Mabel Aleta Guest among others, with numerous students from Ste. Rose Du Lac and Dauphin Schol-Ball noted for achievements and awards.

At the regular meeting the council read the levies for the School Board total 53 926.94 and the Municipal Commissioner levy 6 584.49. The rate to levy these amounts will be the same as 1923 at 26 mills, with a small surplus to cover debenture interest in July and August. The meeting authorized payments of 300 to the Town and 75 to the Rest Room Board.
CN announces start of branch line upgrades covering 254 miles with grading culverts and steel laying to proceed by company forces. Ten bids sought for clearing and grading on 162 miles. Work to start within two weeks with squads organized and machinery readied. notable route includes Ste. Rose du Lac to Borketon, 22 miles.
Mrs. F. B. Roberts presents twenty seven pupils examined by Mr. Claude Biggs. Results list include several First Class Honors and Honors across levels from Pianoforte Introductory to Theory. Scholarships awarded to Joan Bonnycastle and Constance Kennedy for top senior and junior results.
The Elks announce a kid dies picnic planned for Monday August 4 at Dauphin Beach with activities for families and children.

Mr Duncan announced that on the seventeenth of next month the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Canada will speak at the Presbyterian Church in the morning and then attend Gilbert Plains in the evening. He urged holidaying residents at the Lake to attend and meet the distinguished visitor, with Dr Clarence McKinnon expected to draw listeners.

Mrs. Wm. Ashmore dies in Sifton on Friday July 11 at 7:45 am. She previously lived at Valley River and Dauphin during pioneer days and showed interest in district affairs. Born July 27 1880 in Clinton Ontario she is survived by her husband three daughters and six brothers. Funeral at Riverside cemetery Dauphin was well attended.
Glen Campbell reportedly rode a moose during a hunt in Riding Mountain, a feat described as furious by the hunter. He later said he would confine future riding to horses, while the Rev Dr Thomas Travers of Monteclair NJ seeks to ride a moose in Frederickton NB.
Ernest R. Dickie a 26 year old son of J. G. Dickie formerly of Dauphin now of Winnipeg drowned at Lake of the Woods during a canoe trip. He was seen in difficulty as high winds rose. attempts by campers and boats failed. His body was recovered Sunday morning and sent to Winnipeg for burial. relatives from Dauphin and Gilbert Plains traveled to Winnipeg for the funeral.
Mr J J Crowe tells Herald that cutting of a 55 acre rye crop planned for next week will proceed if the weather holds.
The W. A. of St. Pauls church will hold its annual Lawn Social on the grounds of Judge Bonnycastle Friday evening August 1 at 7 30.
