A violent wind and rain storm struck Dauphin at 9 25 p m on July 15 felling trees damaging cars tearing shingles from roofs and downing hydro and telephone poles. Peak rainfall reached 3 41 inches in an hour with winds near 50 mph. Residents faced power flickers downed lights and flooding while streets filled with debris and onlookers gathered to view the damage.

Golden Wedding Honors Mr and Mrs Mike Gingera

Volunteer Fire Brigade Organized At Sifton RM Purchases Fire Hall
The rural municipality of Dauphin council approved land purchase in Sifton townsite for a fire hall at 550 dollars. A 1000 gallon water tank unit was retrofitted for rural pump use. A new Sifton volunteer fire brigade was formed in June with Andy Sawdyn as chief and Ernie Hawke as assistant chief, joined by 12 members including Stanley Schykulski and George Foster.
