First Pari Mutuel Race Meet Offers New Look To Program
The harness racing meet will use a government regulated pari mutuel betting system for the first time to boost spectator interest. A dash system replaces heats with seven dash races each afternoon, starting at 2 p m Tuesday and 1 30 p m Wednesday. Total prizes amount to 2250, with 150 per race and a 300 dash finale for colts midweek. Spectator seating for about 1300 includes 900 in the grandstand and 400 bleachers from the ball diamond.
Dauphin Fair Adds Facilities and Expands Grounds
The Dauphin Agricultural Society and D.M.L.C.C. prepare for the July 25 26 27 fair at the Dauphin Memorial and Community Centre grounds. Two new buildings join the arena and industrial halls while the grounds expand 132 feet north for parking. A new water fountain and extended water lines serve fairgoers and livestock areas.

Repair Program Set for Fifteen A Group Schools
The Dauphin-Ochre area board plans up to 7000 for building work in A group schools this year, down from 10000 last year. Fifteen of 38 area schools will benefit, with about 500 spent on minor repairs already and 1000 allotted for windows and doors. The Old Dauphin school is slated to receive 3000 as a major project.

Elks Regatta and Water Sports Set for August 1 at Ochre Beach
