Fatal Home Raid at Pine River Ends in Death
In Pine River Manitoba a break in at a dwelling led to Andrew Hryhershyn being shot and killed during a confrontation with 81 year old Peter Bras and a 20 year old Salamonovitch. Hryhershyn and companion Dawes entered the house late Saturday night. Dawes was knocked down as Hryhershyn was killed. Dawes fled to summon police. Dawes charged with conspiracy to rob and night with intent to commit robbery was remanded. The inquiry is set for Monday.

Dauphin Summer Fair Stampede Sets Attendance Record
Dauphin's annual summer fair and livestock show drew record crowds over three days last weekend led by the first Round-up and Stampede. Over 4,000 attended Friday and 5,000 Saturday as grandstands sold out and local entrants joined cowboys in events. Gerald Ambler won the Northern Manitoba Championship cup with Bill Parks second. Isaac Jacob Katz age seventy two a Dauphin resident died after a Saturday operation at the general hospital He was born in Russia came to Dauphin in 1900 and lived there except a stay in Ethelbert Manitoba He leaves three adult children Sam F Katz Winnipeg Mrs Abraham Bay Kamsack Sask and Alexander Katz Dauphin barrister He will be buried in Sharrey Zadek cemetery in Winnipeg with funeral held there Thursday.
