Town Extends Industrial Zone Into Business Section
City council approved a by law extending the industrial zone to include about seven town blocks. The A and B H group plans were withdrawn. Commercial and industrial buildings may be built in the zone with residential blocks allowed only with commercial space on lower floors. New dwellings in the zone must replace existing residential use. The north end extends along Main Street from Fourth Avenue to the railway. South end covers Main Street blocks near Third avenues and adjacent properties. Residential district lots now used for commercial purposes also join the industrial zone including specific blocks and corners on Third Street SW, Fourth Avenue SW, Seventh Avenue NF, and Second Street NUE.

Town council approved a by law extending the fire limit area to include the Canadian National railways right of way between Gladys Street crossing and First Street East. New additions to the fire zone cover properties on Second and Third Avenues and Main Street Premises. A restricted zone near Memorial boulevard requires special authority from the town engineer for buildings on lots bordering the memorial center.

The T Eaton Company exhibition horses return for next week’s fair. Six teams pull gaily painted wagons on opening evening. Numerous livestock entries expected with judging Tuesday at 9 am for cattle sheep and swine. Heavy horse judging 10 am poultry 1 pm and light horses 6 pm. Harness racing opens with fixtures at Dauphin fair
The Dauphin fair showcases evening entertainment by Boyle Woolfolks of Chicago and Casey shows at the midway. Tuesday features a free-for-all trot or pace and the 2.28 and three-year-old trot or pace events. Wednesday offers three heats of three trot events.
