Jimmy Ball Breaks For 200 Metres In Winnipeg Trials
Jimmy Ball of Dauphin Manitoba representing the Winnipeg Amateur Athletic Club lowered the Canadian 200 metre record with 21.15 seconds at River Park, beating the old mark by 0.6 seconds as five watches captured the feat. He also won the 400 metre test in 48.15 seconds while Liddle and Hay surpassed the Olympic standard of 49.45 seconds. The Tribune notes his notable sprint career and compares times to world records and Olympic standards.

Ochre River Sports Day a Splendid Picnic and Baseball Day
Good weather and large attendance marked Ochre River annual picnic and sports day on July 7. Hosted by the Community Club led by president W Wishart and secretary J Christ, about 800 attended. Running races and a baseball tournament featured eleven teams. due to one diamond, prize money was shared by Plumas Tamarisk Gilbert Plains and Wilson River, with Fred Siddle as umpire and a well attended hall dance to close.

Football Championship Series Draw Shapes Dauphin League
Four teams including the Rangers Dauphin United C N R and Swan River compete for the Dauphin League title. Riverside Cemetery Vault and Chapel Project Approved
