Premier Norris Attends Dauphin Meeting Amid Drowning Tragedy

Large crowds attended the Dauphin town hall to hear Premier Norris and Liberal candidate Archie Faplen as Esplen Simpson and others spoke. Norris urged support for responsible government and highlighted farm loans rural credits and savings. A drowning accident at Stoney Point Boys Camp claimed 13-year-old Sumpton while funeral details were announced. Civic holiday proclaimed for July 20 and Dauphin fair scenes with horse racing poultry exhibits and Boy Scout displays were reported.

Dauphin business mens picnic set at lake with sports

The Dauphin business men plan an annual picnic at the lake on Thursday the 20th with a civic holiday program of land and water sports. Free transportation will be provided. M Zeavin a Gilbert Plains merchant appeared before P M Hawkins at Gilbert Plains on Wednesday the 12th charged with arson. F E Simpson own Attorney prosecuted. Local and Winnipeg witnesses testified.

July 12 events opened with a large procession led by Dauphin and Gilbert Plains bands from Burrows Block to the Park. Speakers included Capt. O'Brien and several reverends.
