Fair Opens Today with Wide Ranging Exhibits and Events
The fair opens at 1 or 3 pm today with stock in place and a strong Midway lineup. Exhibits include horses cattle sheep pigs poultry and farming displays. A two day baseball tournament harness racing prize money and cream grading contest are planned with entries invited from farmers and wives alike. Local Orange lodges will attend and a special staging brings in brethren from nearby towns.

The Dauphin Club held its Old Bird race from Youngstown Alta covering 482 miles. Heat hindered the flight with a late start and hot conditions. only one bird finished on day two, clocked at 11.22 by Hmit Wm McClernon. Town Council Meeting Vanishes in Heat
The regular fortnightly session opened with the mayor and six councilors present on a hot Thursday night. The heated room forced casual attire and light talk as minutes were read and adopted, with discussion touching trees worms and sods before Dr McGuirk’s milk inspector report.
