Rainfall totals compare 1937 and 1936 to long-term averages

The Dauphin Commercial Travellers collected $83 on a Saturday tag day for the Cancer Relief and Research Institute travelling diagnostic clinic. High school girls assisted in the effort.

Dauphin Fair opens with a record influx of entries across cattle, sheep, horses, poultry and industrial exhibits. The Cavalcade of the Circus headlines a three day event with free grounds today and Kiddies Day tonight, plus Brandon Boys Pipe Band music and Conklin's Midway top attractions.

Dauphin Declares Friday Half Holiday for Exhibition

Friday afternoon is proclaimed a public half holiday in Dauphin to allow citizens to attend the Dauphin Exhibition and Circus. Local businesses will close after noon, with no Thursday half-holiday. Ochre River RM council also proclaims a Friday public holiday for the event.

Dauphin Board of Trade and Town Council invite all residents to a July 15 picnic at Winnipegosis. The program includes track and water sports, an official highway opening, and games and entertainment. BPO Elks of Winnipegosis sponsor the beach event on Lake Winnipegosis.

Cracksmen Break Open Three Safes On Dominion Day

Thieves active in Dauphin during the Dominion Day holiday broke into North Star Oil Company C B Steen and the Dauphin Steam Laundry. They damaged safes and tills but netted only 155.00 in small change and found no cash in the oil premises. An attempted entry at Bell Bottling Works failed. Police investigate.

Council to Hold Public Meeting With School Board

A town council meeting endorsed calling a public session with the School Board to discuss finance and municipal affairs in response to a Board of Trade resolution. The event is planned as soon as possible after the fair. The council criticized the Board of Trade for not informing itself beforehand.
