Dauphin Summer Fair Opens Next Thursday

The Dauphin Summer Fair announced a July 11 start with new grandstand acts. Harness racing returns with an added thriller feature the Jimmie Lynch Death Dodgers and the Saskatoon Girls Pipe Band reappears after two years. Four grandstand shows daily plus Friday and Saturday entertainment include Hubert Castle mid mid Ringling act, The Four Mid-nite Sons, Frank Santry Gem of Jugglers, Bobo and Jojo Barnett clowns with dog act Trixie, Claire Rouse musical comedy clown with varied costumes and one man band routines.

Wizard of the Taut Wire at Dauphin Summer Fair

Hubert Castle known as the bounding tumbling sensation of the tight wire makes his debut at the Dauphin Summer Fair. The event runs July 11 to 13 with eight major rides and eight feature shows on the midway including Auto Speedway Octopus Tilt A Whirl and two Ferris wheels. Mr Sullivan reports railway cars purchased last year enabling the fair’s expanded attractions.

Laughs Provide Sure Barometer of a Good Time at the Fair

The Dauphin Agricultural society fair promises a laugh a minute with a rip roaring time at the grandstand and midway. Hot water booths will be built for patrons. Side shows include the French Casino Hollywood Revue Circus Side Show and Monster Reptiles. The Hollywood Revue directed by Mildred Kestall features fourteen performers in lavish lighting. Doc Freckleton will present the French Casino with a group of beauty contestants. The Circus Side Show showcases new acts from Europe and the U S. The Wallace Bros Midway offers the Motor Maniacs free act praised in major papers.

Race horses to headline Dauphin fair Friday events

The Dauphin summer fair hosts a horse racing program with more than 50 entries from Western provinces and North Dakota. Friday July 12 will feature three events across nine heats with $250 purses each, under the Canadian Trotting Association rules. Death Dodgers thrill show at Dauphin Summer Fair

Popular Admission Prices At Exhibition Grounds

The agricultural society again arranges admission prices for Friday and Saturday at the outer gate. Thursday admission is free. Children under 14 enter free at all times, and cars receive free admission.

Saskatoon Girls Pipe Band Returns for Dauphin Fair

The Saskatoon Girls Pipe Band is reengaged for the Dauphin Summer Fair July 11 12 and 13. They wowed crowds at the Dauphin exhibition two years ago and at the Canadian National Exhibition Toronto and the New York World's Fair. They will perform Happy Holland and Rhapsody in Pink with new specialty numbers and their signature grandstand presentation.

The Saskatoon Girls Pipe Band features 11 pipers and 9 drummers with an average age of 16. Eleven year old Faye Gordon plays full sized bagpipes and is the youngest member as the group prepares to perform at the Dauphin fair under Miss Nellie Small.

Lynch Death Dodgers Rated Biggest Draw at Dauphin Fair

Jimmie Lynch plans over 20000 dollars in rolling stock and show properties to travel to Canada for summer 1940. His entire production will be at the Dauphin Fair to headline the Saturday grandstand on July 13. The 1939 show thrilled grandstand crowds and drew millions at prior venues including the New York World's Fair.
