Men's boys and ladies garments span all sizes with varied price points, emphasizing value and new colorings.
A long list details primary to grade promotions and promotions by grade in a school program. It names students from Grade 1 through Grade 6 with honors passes and conditional progress, followed by a note that the material continues on page 4.
The town council set a 44 mill increase to 37 mills for the year totaling 98 236 36 dollars to cover municipal school and general levies. Higher municipal commissioner costs fuel salaries and grants to Red Cross and Y M C A push the rate up while wartime aims limit refunds and new projects.
Obituary recalls George Barker a Dauphin pioneer born in Stratford Ontario who settled in Manitoba in the eighties, helped found Dauphin as its first mayor and built a Main Street block before later ventures. He leaves two daughters and a son, funeral held at Riverside cemetery with Rev. R. E. Spence presiding.

McMurray's orchestra opened with Oh Canada as ice cream and nets were served by a ladies committee. Sid McIntosh, auctioneer, offered an elaborate silk kimono with proceeds around 175 dollars.
A wedding at Owen Sound Ontario on June 24 with Rev Judson McIntosh officiating. C J Ward of Dauphin wed Ethel Edith Crecine daughter of C A Crecine in a ceremony noted in the local paper.
Mrs Ivey plans to move into her new quarters within a week, located beside Ramsay and Co.'s store. The move signals a nearby business expansion and relocation.

The 8S A ry plans a comfort shower at Mrs. Ors store on Saturday the 13th. Donations are welcomed and a contribution of 81 from Mrs. J. R. Smith is acknowledged.
Warm weather and vacation season bring a flight to Lake Dauphin as cottages open. Families noted include Mrs Whitmore, Mrs Mitchell, Mrs Gorton, and Mrs Gardner with the big pier under reconstruction. Traffic along the lake road is heavy with over 90 cars in one hour. Malcolm's gasoline launch resumes operation.
Mr A H F Stelck claims a new record by driving a Baby Grand Chevrolet from Winnipeg to Dauphin last week. He left at 10 30 a m and arrived at 10 p m after a journey that included a one hour assist for another stranded motorist.
