District convention gathers 12 municipalities in Dauphin district
Ochre River delegates joined 11 other municipalities at the Dauphin judicial district annual meeting of the Union of Manitoba Municipalities last Thursday. A one day registration reached 71 with attendees from McCreary, Lawrence, Winnipeg, Ochre River, Moose River, Dauphin, Ethelbert, Gilbert Plains, Grandview, Shell River, Minitonas, and Swan River. Reeve Venn Campbell of Gwend view was named as district reeve, with the session ending as it continues on page 8.

Tobacco Tax Now In Effect In Manitoba
Manitoba's Tobacco Tax act took effect July 1 requiring stock counts at close of business and tax collection on initial stock. The levy is one quarter cent per cigarette with a sliding scale for cigars and one cent per half ounce of other tobacco products.

Summer Heat and Storms Hit Dauphin Weather Report

Blood Donor Turnout at town hall event

Dauphin to Join Prairie Air Route Expansion
Dauphin will be added to TransAir Limited’s Prairie south route under a class I license. City officials were informed by S. T. Smith, who invited council and chamber of commerce leaders to discuss the plan this Friday. Eighth Annual Regional 4H Rally Opens Dauphin Fair
The 1963 Dauphin Fair opens with the Eighth Annual Regional 4H Rally on July 11. The colonial 4H parade departs Mackenzie school at 10 a.m. and enters Main Street. The fair's official opening is at 6:30 p.m. with prize money totaling about 1200 dollars.
