Dauphin Town Council Plans Annual Program At Regular Meeting
Preliminary preparations for the coming year were made by Dauphin's town council at its regular meeting. A public works budget was approved for dust control on streets, skating arena repairs, and town hall renovations. Main street gasoline pumps must be removed by August 1 while sidewalk and curb work on Main Street is under discussion. A Gladys Street petition requests budget funding to recondition five blocks from First to Fifth avenues. An extra policeman will be decided by March end, with measures for better police efficiency. By laws for transient traders and dance halls will be amended and new licensing drafted. An increased auto allowance for officers was approved to curb speeders. Wm. Hawrysh was chosen day scavenger from six applicants. Fire brigade may fight fires with new hose. rural firefighting plans under review and possible Dauphin rural agreement.

Buildings At B and G School Virtually Finished
Construction at the B and G school site nears completion with the Claydon Construction Co finishing the hangar and drill hall this week. P W Graham and Sons are tidying quarters buildings and expect three weeks more work. Heating systems lag, boilers uninstalled, and the heating project for barracks may have new contractors, possibly Clare Bros of Winnipeg.

War Savings Committees Formed Across Northwestern Manitoba
