Frozen extremities send Winnsis man to Dauphin General Hospital
Robert Marsland of Winnsis was admitted to Dauphin General Hospital on Monday with severe frostbite to hands and feet. He was guiding a fishing sleigh from Meadow Portage when the team bolted, leaving him exposed to freezing conditions and lacking adequate clothing. By the time he reached the nearest settlement he was in critical condition and facing possible partial amputation.

Death of R C McLeod Premier Dauphin figure dies in Saskatoon
Robert Carmichael McLeod a longtime Dauphin public servant died January 20 while traveling from Victoria to health rest in Saskatoon hospital. Born 1859 in Ontario, he moved west in 1878 homesteaded in Dauphin Mountview district and served on municipal council as school trustee and agricultural society director. He was a Liberal and Presbyterian. Funeral held January 23 at St James United Church with burial in Riverside Cemetery.

Theft of two mares and gear reported in Birnie Man
Provincial Police investigate the theft of two black mares a harness set and a buggy at Birnie Manitoba. One mare remains unidentified and may have strayed from Dauphin district. A foaled black mare with nose spot stands 13 hands high and weighs about 1200 to 1300 pounds and is in James Gardner's care at Oakburn. Information should be sent to Inspector Cunningham Dauphin. Also listed is Zane Grey's The Man of the Forest at the Dauphin Theatre on Monday and Tuesday.
