Towns 1955 Building Permits Near Peak Value
Figures from the town engineer show 63 permits for 1955 totaling 915 034, near the 1953 peak but above the 1954 total. The Indian residential school project accounted for 713 000 of the value, with private dwelling activity remaining steady and commercial work included in October.
Night school to continue three classes this winter term

The Dauphin United Grain Growers elevator now uses a Fairbanks Morse phintomatic elevator weigher. Electrically controlled, it stamps gross and tare weights on a ticket and displays on a large outside dial. The automatic system speeds weighing, saving time. If adopted nationwide, 685 UGG elevators would receive the machines, costing just over 1,300 dollars each for a total about 890 500 dollars.

Crime Report Shows Revenue Rise From Fines in 1955
The RCMP detachment annual report for the town ends Dec 31 1955 notes a rise in liquor contravention fines with 85 convictions totaling 2861 dollars, up from 66 and 1832 dollars in 1954.
