Normal School Officers Elected For New Term

Farmers urge lowering Lake Dauphin level to curb drainage impact

An assembled group of farmers and ranchers near Lake Dauphin drafted a resolution asking the Canadian government to conduct surveys and find ways to lower the lake’s water level. They argue the drainage work by Manitoba has raised the lake, and those responsible should fix the problem.

Funeral for Cyril W Price in St Pauls Anglican Church

Cyril W Price died from a fractured skull after a horse kick. The funeral was held on the 19th at St Pauls Anglican Church with Rev. A. E. Cousins officiating. Capt. Shelley oversaw arrangements, and Mayor and Town Council attended along with employers Mr and Mrs Chaine and Mr and Mrs Boughen. Photographs will be sent to bereaved friends. The note ends with sympathy and a mention of The Big Parade coming to Dauphin Theatre February and 4.

Community and Country Club Hockey Clash Ends in Country Win

A Monday hockey game between the Community Golf Club scrubs and the Dauphin Country Club stars drew a large crowd for a lively skirmish. Burns Anniversary Observed by Dauphin Scots Society

Dauphin Scots honored the memory of Robert Burns with a banquet concert and dance in the Town Hall on Wednesday evening. Thos Walker president of the St Andrew's Society of Dauphin presided. Full particulars will appear in the next issue as the Herald went to press.

Public May Inspect New Hospital Building Monday

The new Dauphin General Hospital is ready and patient transfers will start. Next Monday January 27 visitors may tour the building with hospital board staff from 1:00 to 5:30 p.m. The formal opening is postponed due to the superintendent Miss Cotter’s illness and accident.

17 Year Old Forgery Suspect Receives Suspended Sentence

Walter Lupichuk, a 17 year old, appeared before Magistrate Hawkins charged with forging a cheque and passing it to Dan Hamilton last September. He received a two year suspended sentence after restitution was made.
