Dauphin dominated all game and edged Winnipeg 4 to 3 in overtime. Shining for Dauphin were the Leech brothers and Scrase who netted the deciding goal after a strong team effort and improved forward defense under coach Heard. Winnipeg’s Monson Campbell Finney and others fought hard but Dauphin secured its first win of the year.

Blizzard Sweeps Dauphin Tuesday
One of the year s worst blizzards began Tuesday afternoon and lasted through the night. Heavy snowdrifts blocked roads and halted traffic while trains were delayed until tracks could be cleared. No telephone lines reported down yet and fuel supply challenges loom as wood roads close and wood prices are expected to rise.
Dauphin District School Board Seeks 1934 Estimates
A special Dauphin district school board meeting at Mackenzie school discussed 1934 estimates. The teachers’ salary item stands at 41227.50, with a 370 increase to fix salary inequalities. Total expenditures reach 74226.62 with 12322 receipts planned. Levy remains 55159.72 from Dauphin town and 5706 from the rural municipality. The normal Whitmore School may close. rental of 1200 ends. The board backs ward-system abolition for broader franchise and seeks interest relief from Bank of Nova Scotia.

The lecture, arranged by the Dauphin Rotary Club, covers his summer study trip to Denmark Norway and Sweden with teachers from Canada the United States and Europe. Dauphin Fair Dates Set By Western Canada Fairs
The Western Canada Fairs Association met in Winnipeg on January 16 17 with Dauphin Agricultural Society represented by Dr J R Gunne and Dr O McGuirk. Dauphin fair is set for July 12 13 14 with midway by Conklins All Canadian Shows and platform attractions from Williams and Lee of St Paul. The convention reviewed regional fair rules noting some provisions too drastic for the three western provinces and considered modifications.
