Civil Defence Plans Lodging Town Survey Dawphin

Civil Defence Week will be held in Dauphin during the week of. F. J. Mills civil defence coordinator asks citizens to assist the survey. Project hoped to be completed by end of February. a master file will be formed. Western Canada’s first lodging survey occurred in Portage la Prairie. results will be kept updated by the Dauphin civil defence committee.

Street Paving Plans For 1962 With $112 000 Budget

Town engineer outlines a 1962 street paving program totaling about $112,000 to be funded by grants and local funds. Projects cover the south, southeast, northeast and northwest sections, including Mountain Road and Macleod Avenue improvements pending storm sewer work. Government grants totaling roughly $31,904 are sought for asphalt surfacing and related access roads.

Mrs Bateman Celebrates 97th Birthday With Tea

Mrs Rachel Bateman of Dauphin marked her 97th birthday on Tuesday January 16 hosting afternoon tea for friends who arrived with flowers and gifts. She remains in good health and runs her home for her son Bert while knitting for the Red Cross and the Maypin Plains Homemaker Group.

The Dauphin Kings announce final receipts from the Ron Cox Benefit Night game with the Yorkton Terriers and other donations totaling 1,397 dollars. After expenses of 151.68 dollars, 1,245.32 dollars remains in the Ron Cox Benefit Fund on deposit at the Bank of Montreal in Dauphin.
