Seventh Dauphin Musical Society concert at Dauphin Theatre
The Dauphin Musical Society presented its seventh concert at the Dauphin Theatre on Wednesday evening the 23rd met Mendelssohn Eli jah. A large audience witnessed visiting singers and a large chorus meeting high expectations. Soloists included Mrs Ernest Mills Miss Gertrude Newton Mr W Bradley and Mr KR Haklley. The chorus featured numerous named sopranos altos tenors and basses with pianist Mrs Roy Hamilton organist Mr Ronald Gibson and conductor Mr H S Beetham.

A 1922 1923 power report shows a $4000 revenue shortfall and higher street lighting usage leading to possible 1am shutdowns on non-moonlit nights.

Postoffice Thief Caught at Poultry Show In Dauphin
A city boy from a prominent family admits stealing letters including post office orders from local mailboxes after a search revealed a key. The arrest followed Chief Everett’s investigation as Dauphin hosts the fifth annual poultry show with about 600 entries from Brandon Portage la Prairie and Minnedosa. Taxation supervisor visits to close local sub-office

Literary Society Disbands Orchestra Over Funds
At Friday’s meeting the Literary Society voted to disband the orchestra temporarily due to lack of funds. The program included recitation by Sadie Isaacovitch and a grade xi debate on Canada remaining with the British Empire. Norah Molson and Edith Barker supported the affirmative for Grade xi, while Frank Holmes and Harry Poole argued the negative. The meeting ended with the National Anthem and an upcoming lecture by Professor Osborne on January 30 at 8 p.m. in the town hall titled Elements of Hope in the Present World Situation, with free admission. John and Mike Perzylo, Sifton farmers, appeared before P.M. Hawkins on the 22nd inst. charged with stealing timber from C P R lands. They pleaded guilty and agreed to restitution to the railroad, and were fined 10 dollars plus costs or two months hard labor in jail.
