Directors of the Guane society organized a nominating committee to draft standing committees. D D McDonald proposed a Winter Fair on March 6 to 9 with funds for short course participants and prizes. Dairy and Beer classes were proposed, with a full program of demonstrations, judging, lectures, and an open awards meeting on March 9.

Pine River man jailed for assault in magistrate court
Philip Siepic of Pine River was charged with assaulting Paraska Runiak before Magistrate Hawkins on Monday. He was found guilty on the evidence and sentenced to two months in Dauphin gaol.

Indian Agent Archie Ogietree Dies After Stroke
Archie Ogietree Indian agent for Portage la Prairie died Monday at Crane River after suffering a stroke Friday night. Born in Portage district and educated at the University of Manitoba he spent years in government service including the land titles office and was Indian agent since 1916. Local residents note he was a trusted adviser to northern Indians. Mrs Ferguson and Mrs Graham are mentioned in town visiting and civic movements in Winnipeg and Dauphin connections noted.

Farmers Seek Relief From Dauphin Lake Flooding
A large gathering along Dauphin Lake at Ochre River on Monday evening formed a resolutions committee to reclaim thousands of acres flooded by drainage works and rising waters. The group urged a hydrographic survey and topographical study to lower and maintain lake levels, and asked Ochre River Ste. Rose and Dauphin councils to pass the same resolution for submission to Ottawa.

Golden Anniversary of Mr and Mrs William Farrell in Dauphin
Mr and Mrs William John Farrell celebrated their golden wedding at home in Dauphin on Saturday afternoon. Grace United Church contributed two gold pieces presented by Rev Fred Middleton. Relatives from Riding Mountain and Franklin attended. Farrells, born in Perth County and Tyrone, Ireland, moved from Neepawa to Dauphin in 188? and later built a home here. Five of eight children survive with 11 grandchildren. A purse and address were given by the family and a 6 pm wedding breakfast followed.

Local man Drebnicki dies in self-inflicted gunshot
Nykola Drebnicki of Keldé ie riet in Gil bert Plains Municipal district died by self inflicted shooting in the lith inst. after an altercation with his wife. Provincial police and the district coroner found a highly temperamental disposition. The family found him in a shattered condition with a discharged rifle nearby. no inquest was required.

Accidental shooting ends life of Geo Bass on hunt
Geo Bass was accidentally shot and killed Sunday while hunting with his brothers in Waterhen district. The body was moved to Borketon where coroner Dr. Gosselin investigated and ruled the death entirely accidental.
