John R. Morgan Elected Chairman of Area Board

John R. Morgan veteran school trustee was elected chairman of the Dauphin-Ochre Area school board at the statutory meeting last Wednesday evening. Cecil R. Durston was re elected vice chairman. Morgan, serving eighth year as area trustee for ward 3, has chaired transportation and equipment. He is long time secretary of the Fairville school board and heads a farming family near Dauphin.

Area Teachers Give Notice To Terminate Salary Agreement

Dauphin Local School Board Elects Tycholis Chair

John L. Tycholis was elected chairman of the Dauphin district No. 905 board at the statutory meeting last Wednesday evening. Mrs. June E. Barber was reelected vice-chairman. New standing committees include Buildings Grounds Fuel Management Finance Transportation and Community Schools. Roy Caruk, Mrs. Eliza Caruk, Fisher, and Miss Anne Ward were named trustees and assistant secretary respectively.

March of Dimes drives money trees reach 1965 goal

March starts as the campaign disseminates 230000 money trees to homes across the province this week. Organizers aim to raise 236250 dollars to meet the 1965 objective through local contributions and community support.

The Dauphin Horticultural Society held its first general meeting on Friday January 8 at the home of Mr and Mrs Gavin Strang with 15 in attendance. Emergency ambulance services halted by funeral firms

Sneath Strilchuk and Riverside Chapel ceased emergency ambulance services on Jan 6 after town council asked for a continued arrangement pending health reports. The firms cited council deferral and transfer of financial burden to them, noting prior warnings of discontinuation if adequate payment was not provided.
