Dauphin Municipal Credit Corporation to Hold Annual Meeting
The Dauphin municipal credit corporation announces its annual meeting this Thursday. W. Cries and W. D. Strang serve as rural representatives, with Miss Helen F. Marsh, Charles Volk and Dr. C. Robertson as town representatives. Terms include W. McClernon and J. A. Ringstrom for rural and Bert Snart and Howard Watson for town. C N R Award Given to A J Middleditch for Efficiency Idea
A J Middleditch of the Dauphin division C N R received a cash award for a suggestion to run track mowers in tandem to boost equipment efficiency. The plan, adopted since 1949, was presented by A R Banner at a ceremony with local C N R staff. Middleditch has 42 years with the railways and has held multiple administrative roles. He served in both world wars and engaged in civic and theatre activities.

Ringstrom Named First Lady Chairman Of Dauphin School Board
Mrs. J A Ringstrom was named chairman of the Dauphin local school board at a recent meeting becoming the first woman to hold the post. She succeeds Dr W L Watson who has retired. The board also announced changes in committee assignments and officers including John L Tycholis as acclamation made after Dr V L Sant and others.

Hours Shortened for Operation of Signal Lights
Under new time changes, traffic signals will operate two hours less daily. Since 1954, signals ran 8 a.m. to midnight except Sundays. now they run 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily except Sundays. From 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. signals will flash amber on Main Street and red on Second Avenue N.E. and Second Avenue N.W. all day Sundays.

About 1,500 organizations across Manitoba join the 1955 March of Dimes drive to support crippled children. Campaign chairman Karl G. Slocomb notes polio surges in 1952 and 1953 strained rehab resources, with 200 of 577 patients in 1954 able to return to work or school while others still require aid. All funds fund rehabilitation for polio patients of all ages in Manitoba.

New Federal Building to Open January 22 in Dauphin
The Dauphin Federal building will formally open on January 22 with a ribbon cutting at 2 30 p m conducted by Hon Stuart S Garson federal minister of justice. Officials from Mayor W L Bullmore and Councillor James Anderson oversee arrangements. Existing occupants include National Employment Service Veterans Land Act Immigration Health of Animals and the federal agricultural department. Dauphin RCMP will move to the second floor and postal services will relocate from the 1908 post office to the main floor of the new building.
