The Manitoba Barber act passed in 1940 licenses and regulates price setting. Dauphin barbers face minimum charges, ending prior lower rates. Children's haircuts rise to twenty five cents and adults to thirty five cents. a fifty cent massage option is eliminated. Some barbers had charged less than these new minimums.

Slight Damage Done in First Accidents of 1941
Two minor Dauphin wrecks in the first three days of 1941 caused under $100 damage. A 1939 Olds driven by Roy Lodge hit a 1938 Chevrolet owned by Arve Bow on Fourth Avenue after lights hindered sight. A second crash on First Street N.E. involved a 1941 Chevrolet owned by Miller Motors driven by Ralph Smith colliding with a 1940 Nash owned by Edward Drysdale of Winnipeg.

The Mobberleys were away. a neighbor stoked the fire. Fire caused blistered furniture and burned curtains with water adding to the damage, totaling several hundred dollars.

Municipal Road Kept Open to Winnipegosis
Dauphin to Winnipegosis via Valley River and Sifton will stay open all winter. A snow plow operated to Winnipegosis on December 29 in cooperation with the Good Roads department. The rural municipality plans to buy its own plow to keep major roads clear. No. 5 trunk from Neepawa to the Saskatchewan border stays open, as does No. 10 from Dauphin to Swan River. roads south to the Riding Mountain remain in good condition.

The Canadian National Railways cannot abandon ten miles of main line between Gladstone and Muir near Dauphin and Winnipeg.
