Dauphin placed first in most standings, Ochre River second, with strong performances in the Inter-Crab Grain Show and Reward Wheat events. The Harrison Shield went to a close outcome as attendance and essays narrowed the lead, granting two Dauphin members a Toronto Royal trip in November 1932.

Art Exhibition Opens at Armoury By Local Council of Women
The annual show at the Armoury will be opened by Mr. H N Macneill on Friday February 1 at 2 30 pm. It runs Friday 2 30 to 10 pm and Saturday 9 am to 10 pm with ten cent admission adults. Children under 12 admitted free with adults. It features Winnipeg Sketch Club members and local artists and aims to encourage youth and display Manitoba art to Dauphin residents.

Dauphin defeated Portage la Prairie 5-1 in a brisk hockey contest on Proday. N Nantais and Rideau sparked the visitors with key saves and late goal work while Bell M Cook and Roe led Dauphin offensively. Portage’s Campbell and Singled out efforts. Slobodzian’s checking stifled Portage’s attack as Rideau scored twice and Scrase contributed a fourth for Dauphin.

Dauphin Board of Trade Holds Adjourned Annual Meeting
The adjourned annual meeting of the Dauphin Board of Trade met with President E N McGirrip presiding. Officers were elected for 1932 and reports shown include a healthy financial balance, tourism progress, and plans for roads and water projects. The Massey River Dam dispute was reviewed and a delegation to speak with government ministers was urged. The meeting approved a Boy Scout support resolution and thanked secretary Matt Callum with a small gift, then adjourned.

Dauphin Bonspiel Opens Next Monday With 35 Entries
The 34th annual Dauphin Curling Club bonspiel begins next Monday February 22 with a noon first draw. about thirty five entries are expected from twenty four local rinks plus outside teams. Trophies include Theo A Burrows Memorial and Citizens trophies open, Merchants trophy and Sandy Macdonald consolation trophy. A curlers dinner and smoker is planned February 24.

Dauphin Pioneer Passes At Age Ninety One
Mrs Harriet Hansey aged ninety one died at Victoria hospital Winnipeg on a Sunday. She had resided in the province about forty years and left Dauphin for Winnipeg ten years ago. Survived by five daughters 34 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Funeral held in Dauphin on February 9.
