The Married Couples Dance Club, an informal group in Dauphin, marks 32 years with current president Doug Johnston and secretary W. J. Quick. The club limits membership to 55 couples and hosts monthly dances from October to April with a three piece orchestra. George Scott and others recorded the club’s story in a notebook, preserving original by laws and notes from early members and venues.

Gun Accident Kills Youth in Meadow Portage Holiday Visit
A 17 year old Allan Jantti of Port Arthur Ont was fatally wounded in a hunting accident near Meadow Portage on December 24. The shotgun discharged when it was knocked to the ground while he rode a tractor with Edwin Hill 16. He died shortly after 16 am. No inquest will be held.
