Walter Durston was named to the directorate of the Manitoba Beekeepers association at the 7th annual convention in St. James November 29 30. Other officers include second vice president Be Isaac of Roblin and president John Uhrin of Pine Creek. The 1962 honey crop matched the ten year average, but wet weather lowered it below last five year norms. About ten percent of colonies overwintered locally, while many beekeepers import bees from the southern United States each spring, with Dauphin area importing over 8000 two pound packages annually. Duane Castle of Gilbert Plains presides over the Dauphin Valley Beekeepers association.

The Eleventh Avenue hall hosted the Sth Senior Citizens Christmas party on Monday December 3 with 233 seniors from Dauphin and district enjoying an afternoon of fun and food. Transportation was aided by the Lions club and Rotarians. Santa Joyd Ewen distributed gifts to seniors including longest married couple 61 years and oldest unmarried individuals. A variety program followed with choirs led by Mrs. O Spillett and Mrs. Winters accompanying, and greetings from local officials.
