Go Ahead for Second RM Centennial Projects
The RM of Dauphin receives grants totaling 7896 from provincial and federal Centennial programs to fund two projects by 1967. A picnic ground project along the Vermillion river is approved with 1000 from each government and 3000 from the RM, part of an 11000 estimate. Additional Centennial plans will be financed from the remaining one mill levy over eight years.

Mrs. Amy Evason was appointed matron of the rest room by the Rest Room board on November 27. She will succeed Mrs. Bassett who steps down January 1 after two years in the post. Shoplifting Epidemic Hits Dauphin Stores
A rash of break-ins and shoplifting afflicted Dauphin stores over two weeks. On December 4 a shopper spotted a person with unwrapped goods leaving a store and entering a Saskatchewan-registered car. Police stopped the vehicle west of Dauphin and recovered a large amount of merchandise valued at 329 dollars from six local stores. Lena Zielinski noted.

Edward Jackman was installed as exalted ruler of the Dauphin Elks Lodge No. 57 in Orange Hall on December 8. The Dauphin Lions Club held a December meeting with about 40 attendees and approved several community projects. They authorized the purchase of three rifles for the Dauphin Junior Rifle Club, donated eyeglasses to four needy individuals, and planned a new Telephone Lion-O program to fund further local improvements.
